Services

Therapy shaped around the person in the room.

We treat children as young as two, adolescents, adults, couples and whole families — in person in Fort Atkinson and by telehealth anywhere in Wisconsin.

Who we work with

Eight ways we help.

If you are not sure which of these describes your situation, that is normal. Reach out and we will figure it out together.

Children & adolescents

Therapy for children as young as two, teens finding their footing, and everyone in between. We meet them where they are — through play, art, movement and conversation — and we bring parents and caregivers in as partners.

Play therapyChild-led therapyTF-CBTBehavior & big feelings

Adults

Individual therapy for adults working through trauma histories, anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, and the patterns that formed long before they had words for them. Practical, evidence-based, and paced by you.

Families

When one person is struggling, the whole household feels it. Functional Family Therapy and family sessions focus on communication, boundaries, and repair — so home feels steadier for everyone in it.

Trauma therapy

Trauma is our specialty, not a side offering. Every clinician here is trained in trauma-focused care. We move at your pace, build safety first, and never ask you to relive more than you are ready for.

Play therapy

Play is how children process what they cannot yet explain. In a room built for it, children use toys, sand, art and story to work through fear, loss and confusion — and to practice feeling safe again.

Couples counseling

For partners who keep having the same argument, who are navigating a hard season, or who want to understand each other better before things harden. Structured, balanced, and free of taking sides.

Foster care & adoption support

Support for foster, kinship and adoptive families — attachment, transitions, behavior, grief and loyalty binds. We understand the systems involved and how exhausting they can be.

Our approaches

The methods behind the work.

These are the evidence-based approaches our clinicians are trained in. You do not need to know which one you need — that is what the first conversation is for.

TF-CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A structured, evidence-based approach for children, teens and their caregivers after trauma. It combines coping skills, gradual processing of the trauma story, and caregiver involvement.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Identifies the thought patterns driving anxiety, depression and avoidance, then builds practical tools to interrupt them. Skills-based and measurable.

DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Skills for people whose emotions run hot and fast — distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness.

PE

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

A gold-standard PTSD treatment that gradually and safely reduces the power of trauma memories and the situations that have been avoided since.

WET

Written Exposure Therapy

A brief, focused trauma protocol built around structured writing sessions. Effective for people who want a shorter course of trauma treatment.

FFT

Functional Family Therapy

A short-term, in-depth family model that targets the patterns inside a household rather than labeling one person as the problem.

MI

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative conversation style that resolves ambivalence about change without pressure, argument or shame. Central to our substance use work.

ART

Aggression Replacement Training

A skills program for anger, impulsivity and aggression, combining social skills, anger control and moral reasoning.

PT

Play & art-based therapy

Developmentally matched therapy for young children who process experience through play, story and creation rather than conversation.

PCT

Person-Centered Therapy

The foundation underneath everything else: unconditional regard, genuine warmth, and the belief that you are the expert on your own life.

SB

Strengths-based therapy

Starts from what is already working. Builds on existing resilience, relationships and coping instead of cataloguing deficits.

AODA

Substance use counseling

Assessment and treatment for alcohol and other drug concerns, integrated with the trauma and mental health work rather than siloed away from it.

In person — Fort Atkinson

Sessions in a space designed for calm: warm light, soft textures, and a separate children's room built for real play therapy rather than a bin of toys in the corner.

Secure video sessions for clients located anywhere in the state. Useful when the drive is long, the week is full, or a child does better in their own environment. Many clients alternate.
