Why we are different

Not all therapy is the same.

Every clinician at Flourish & Thrive specializes in trauma-informed care. We take the time to understand your story, help you find the root of what you are carrying, and give you tools that actually hold up outside this room.

01

Trauma is our specialty

Not a line on a list. All three of us built our careers on trauma work, and it shapes how we run every session — safety first, pace set by you, no surprises.

02

Built around you

Evidence-based treatment, personalized. We match the approach to the person, not the person to whatever protocol we happen to like.

03

Ages two and up

Toddlers through adults, and the families around them. Play therapy for the youngest, structured protocols for teens and adults, family work when the whole house is affected.

04

Insurance, honestly handled

Six major plans accepted today with more coming, plus private pay and a sliding scale. You will know your cost before your first session, not after.

Who we help

Come as you are.

Our clients come to us carrying trauma, raising children who are struggling, or simply worn down by a life that has stopped feeling like theirs. All of it belongs here.

Children & adolescents

Therapy for children as young as two, teens finding their footing, and everyone in between. We meet them where they are — through play, art, movement and conversation — and we bring parents and caregivers in as partners.

Adults

Individual therapy for adults working through trauma histories, anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, and the patterns that formed long before they had words for them. Practical, evidence-based, and paced by you.

Families

When one person is struggling, the whole household feels it. Functional Family Therapy and family sessions focus on communication, boundaries, and repair — so home feels steadier for everyone in it.

Trauma therapy

Trauma is our specialty, not a side offering. Every clinician here is trained in trauma-focused care. We move at your pace, build safety first, and never ask you to relive more than you are ready for.

Play therapy

Play is how children process what they cannot yet explain. In a room built for it, children use toys, sand, art and story to work through fear, loss and confusion — and to practice feeling safe again.

Couples counseling

For partners who keep having the same argument, who are navigating a hard season, or who want to understand each other better before things harden. Structured, balanced, and free of taking sides.

The space

A room that does not feel like a waiting room.

We started this practice because we wanted a place that felt comfortable, inviting and genuinely calming — the opposite of the fluorescent-lit offices most people picture when they think about therapy.

Warm light. Soft textures. A children's room built for actual play, not a corner with a bin of toys. A space where a nervous teenager can exhale and a parent can stop bracing.

The environment is not decoration. For people who have experienced trauma, feeling physically safe in a room is the first step toward everything else.

Healing happens when we feel safe, seen and supported.

Plain answers

Questions people ask us first.

Do you take my insurance?

We are currently credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Ascension (SmartHealth) through Headway. We are adding more panels as our second billing partner comes online, so if you do not see your plan listed, ask us anyway. We also offer private pay and a sliding scale.

How much does therapy cost?

If you are using insurance, your cost is your copay, coinsurance or deductible — Headway will confirm that for you before your first session, so there are no surprises. For private pay, call or message us and we will send you our current rates and our sliding scale.

How soon can I get in?

All three of our clinicians are currently accepting new clients, which means wait times are short right now. Send us a request and we will reply within two business days with real availability, not a waitlist.

Do you see children? How young?

Yes. Kayla works with children as young as two, and Emma with children as young as three. At those ages we use play therapy and art-based approaches, because play is how a child processes experiences they do not yet have words for.

Can we meet by video instead of in person?

Yes. We offer secure telehealth sessions to anyone located in Wisconsin, and many clients mix in-person and virtual visits depending on the week. In-person sessions are in Fort Atkinson.

What if I am not sure what kind of therapy I need?

That is genuinely fine, and it is not something you need to solve before reaching out. Tell us what has been hard lately. Matching you to the right approach — and the right clinician — is our job, not yours.

Get started

Taking the first step is the hardest part.

Tell us a little about what you are looking for. We will get back to you within two business days, and we will be honest with you about whether we are the right fit.
