Portrait of Kayla Miller

Kayla Miller, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker · Co-Owner

“Healing happens when we feel safe, seen and supported.”

Kayla is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, adults and families through a trauma-informed lens. She sees clients ages two and up, and has a particular passion for children and teens carrying the weight of trauma, foster care, attachment wounds or hard family circumstances.

She earned her master's degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and has spent more than five years walking alongside families in the thick of it. That work gave her a deep respect for how much a child's experiences, relationships and losses shape the way they move through the world — and how much can change when someone finally listens.

Kayla is trained in Functional Family Therapy and draws on evidence-based strategies, mindfulness and self-compassion in her sessions. Her approach is warm, collaborative and person-centered: she believes every person is the expert on their own story, and her role is to hold a steady, safe space while they find their footing.

She is not afraid of the hard parts. Kayla is at her best in the nitty-gritty — deep-rooted childhood trauma, long-standing patterns, the things people have never said out loud — and she is willing to walk through the trenches with a client to get to the other side.

Outside of the office, Kayla is reading, listening to music, or spending time with her husband and sons.

Licensed Professional Counselor · Co-Owner

“If it is important to you, you will find a way.”

Kim is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than a decade in the mental health field, working across a range of settings since 2012. She has provided counseling to children, adolescents, adults and families, and has treated a wide spectrum of mental health diagnoses alongside substance use concerns.

Her clinical focus and her passion is trauma. Kim is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), with additional training and clinical experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Aggression Replacement Training.

Her therapeutic style is compassionate and highly individualized, with an emphasis on helping clients feel safe, supported and genuinely empowered — not managed. She is glad to be welcoming clients into a practice she helped build from the ground up.

Choosing a therapist

You are allowed to be picky.

Research consistently finds that the relationship between a client and their therapist is one of the strongest predictors of whether therapy works. That means picking someone who feels right is not vanity — it is part of the treatment.

If you read these and one of us stands out, say so on the request form. If none of us feel right, tell us that too and we will help you find someone who does.
